There is absolutely no cynicism about the quality attribute of the Multiplex. But, I would first list out the flaws that hit my brain-box, recently, and provoked me to write a review!
Let me exemplify the negatives(the good points explored later):
1. Online(In)Convenience: They facilitate online booking and charge Rs 10 per TICKET. The bad part is “inconvenience” faced by patrons when they have to line up in the same queue as regular queues.
Well, that’s really disgusting! Can’t Fun provide a separate counter for Online Booked tickets, where only customers who’ve booked online(yes they can make it only for PAID bookings, and not UNPAID).
We have to line up, and get the “convenience” for which we’ve paid in advance and 10 bucks extra! Time is wasted and at the 11th hour, free frustration factor extra!
On asking, at the counters, they reply “Sir, all ticket windows are open for everyone”. What sarcastic answer is this(Not their fault, as they are just trained that way by superiors!)
One more: Once I’ve booked Online tickets for Saturday night, collected the tickets. Went inside, and then I faced “inconvenience” due to their technical flaw. He gave me ticket for Sunday night. I was sure I did not book for the next day! Well, I re-collected the correct tickets from the counter.
I’ve also faced a wrongly printed ticket which is matching seat numbers with other viewer!
2. Food and Beverage: At interval, many times I do not prefer to go outside to queue up and eat up. So, I try to call up the server/waiter – but quite often, I experienced that they don’t listen at all! Now come’ on, I don’t want to be embarrassed to shout very loudly – it’s their responsibility to come up at me on small gesture.
Anyhow, I ordred and he assured me to get the items soon. Well, out of two instances as such; one he did not come at all and movie finished! At second instance, he came, but atleast after 40 minutes. And more. He was not able to collect person(we) who had ordered. So, again, Ive to gesture at him!
3. Insult to National Flag: Not sure, but out of four screens, three of them have low quality, de-graded, animated national flag(clipped from some Cartoon/Animated movie?). Audio is quite fast, and I suspect if it runs for whole 52 seconds! Great insult!
It must be “real video” in open-space, clean and full-flowing National Flag. Also, it should complete in exactly Fifty-Two seconds!
4. Open Doors while movie is being screened. Screen 1 of the theatre, last show of Pirates-3. The side-door remained open for more than 40 minutes. Straight light(of high emission bulb, I guess) was coming inside the screen.
Most of the quality multiplex in Mumbai have two-door entrance scheme with at least 10-feet of distance between two. This way, outside radiance will not go inside. Also, the actual screen area(followed by second door), is slightly elevated – making brightness totally blocked!
True, Fun has this scheme at all 4 screens. But why screen-1 has side-direct-open doors? This is for emergency reasons, as you all can guess. It should remain locked, always, unless there is some uncertainty. Patrons would use the regular exit points, especially at intervals, to go out and in.
Positives:
1. Screen and sound quality is beyond repute – it’s simply astounding!
Not sure if all screens, are of same dimensions, but are huge – adding movie experience manifold.
2. High-quality quality food. The required products are available most of the time, and are fresh. Rates are comparable with other multiplex, if not low.
3. Ticketing system is also okay. Online booking works flawlessly. Other points you’ve already read!
4. Ambience is excellent. Pleasant place to visit at week end – CCD, McDonald’s, Games, soothing place to sit et. al.
5. Weekly movie schedule by email, which is not properly scheduled to deliver on schedule! Tell me, what I do if I get email for this week on Friday Evening? It should be presented at my Inbox on Monday!
Sigh! Thanks for reading. Do comment. Do rate.
