What an experience

I sent my Samsung S4 for water damage to them on 2nd Jan. I was asked by the guys who picked up the phone to "Keep following up and it will be replaced". I did not really understand until late, that he meant it jokingly.


Well, following up I did, everyday. You have to accept that they DO, at least, receive calls. After calling them for about 10 days everyday (did I tell you that their service guaranty is 10 days), on 14th Jan I was told that my mobile is repaired and will be dispatched soon.


On calling them on 15th, I got to know that, some issue have been found during testing and it was sent to Samsung Service Center. This is the day when they tell me that the reason for delay is "water damage". I asked them, "Isn’t water damage reasons they give coverage to? Why is it a surprise issue now? And why did it take 13 days to figure that out when I actually said so at the time of submission itself?" Well, no answers to that.


Called them again on 22nd Jan. This time I was surprised to know that my mobile was sent to Samsung service center only on 21st Jan. What were they doing from 15th Jan through 22nd Jan??? I asked for the service sheet of Samsung so I could do the follow up directly with them. But, it seems that is not possible.


On 23rd, when I asked again and got the same answer that "it is water damage and would take more time". No dates were given so I threatened them to go to "Consumer Forum". To which the guy replied whatever you want.


Called them again on 30th Jan and this time they agreed to send me the service sheet. But they did not. Called them again on 31st Jan and asked them again. They said they will send in 5 minutes but still did not. By now, I had alreay bought another mobile to keep me going. I do not know why I even bothered paying the 2800 for their service.


Anyways, I got a call from them on 7th Feb saying the mobile is repaired and will be sent to me by 10th Feb. I was relived - finally. But, then again I was much too hopeful. On 10th they informed me that it did not pass quality test and was sent again to Samsung Service Center. I do not understand, why they have to go back and forth to the service center so many times. What was fixed the last 2 times? Was it sent at all? And why they could not figure out what needs to be repaired in 50 days of receiving the mobile.


However, this time they did send the service sheet - dated 31st Jan - which gives the address of some local service shop. Wait a minute - wasn’t it sent to service center on 22nd and then again on 10th? And wasn’t it sent to Authorized service center? I guess not.


This is 14th Feb now - and there is no news of the mobile yet. Going to consumer forum tomorrow. Nightmarish experience with these cheats.


Word of advice - steer clear of these cheats.
