Awesome Movie but...

GANGSTER

To beat the oppressive heat and power cut of Pune city, I went across to E Square to see the movie GANGSTER.

I love gangsters and all gangster related movies and activities. This movie was a bit different. It involved the Gangster, a dreaded contract killer, his moll, and the moll’s boyfriend.

The Gangster is big time and on the run internationally, avoiding the Indian Intelligence agencies. He hides his moll in Seoul, where she gets bored and drunk for weeks on end. There, she meets an Indian singer at a night club, falls in love and goes a wee bit too far. The Gangster lands up in Seoul unexpectedly, catches his moll red handed, bashes up the singer.

Pretty believable, nice plot, nice songs, great acting up to this point. I figured that the story would move up a few notches with the moll eventually sacrificing the Gangster for a nice simple life with the rock singer lover.

But hey, on second thoughts, I figured that life would be so boring for the moll, being married to a singer, after living a dangerous and exciting life with the handsome Gangster.

Regretfully the story did not move on the way I would have loved it to go on. Instead, there were some crazy twists and turns to the story. Eventually all the three were doomed to die in most unexpected ways.

Plenty about this movie was good. Handsome actors, pretty good looking gangster’s moll, a decent story line for most parts, great love scenes, good music, just about everything, except the twists and turns later in the movie.

I came out a wee bit disappointed.

I guess, I will need to work on an ideal Gangster story and hand over the script to some great movie director for free.

MY GANGSTER

In my movie, the Gangster and his moll will make it big, big time, live a happy life, have wonderful children and completely control and outwit bad cops, bad laws, bad Governments and wicked politicians.

My Gangster will never kill innocent folks but will extort money from all rich folks who do not pay income and other taxes honestly and waste money on ostentatious way of life. I will allow my Gangster a few flings with beautiful women. But he will imbibe strong family values. He will hob nob with the rich and famous. He will not have any major addictions like smoking, drinking and womanizing. He will eventually rise to be a top notch parallel Global Corporate man.

His three sons will study at Wharton and Harvard. One son will wear patriotism on his sleeve and join the Indian Army, retire after 20 years and then spin out into politics and rise to become a Defence Minister. The Wharton Harvard boys will recycle the Gangsters wealth and set up top of the line Industries.

In his late years my Gangster will move on to philanthropy, set up schools, help NGO’s and dispense with justice denied to ordinary folks. No stamp papers, Vakils etc.

By then, other GenNext gangsters will slowly rise and make a name for themselves under the sun and inspired by my GANGSTER, move on to even greater highs.
