Those of you who think of travelling to Switzerland or Austria, and cant make it for reasons of your own, u needn’t be disappointed.You oughta go to Sikkim.This place is magnificent. I had gone there a couple of years ago. We stayed at a hotel called Sonam dalek.The room at that time ( the season was just ending) was around Rs450/- The room was a comfortable one, facing the Kanchenjunga. But what we really liked were the hotel staff. Hospitality was the byword of the entire week that we were there.Even on the roads, the people were very courteous. The Rumtek monastry is a nice place to visit, as is a place called Yumthang.it is called the switzerland of Sikkim.West Sikkim boasts of a lake, where during the course of the day, you can see changing colors. Then there is the outing to Tchangu Lake at a height of 12000 feet..nearing the indo-china border. All in all that was a very memorable trip for me. Foodwise too I did not have a problem..We had small Dhabas serving marwadi cuisine at the rate of Rs10 for 3 rotis, two sabzi’s and a glass of buttermilk..
