As a harassed housewife my since advice to new AC buyers is JUST DONOT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING A HITACHI AC. My pathetic experience with them has started from the abnormal delay in installation after Purchase last season in Hyderabad from PCH. They took 11 days to come for installation after purchase. That too some road side mechanics who are employees of neither Hitachi Service nor any qualified franchisee have been deployed who did a patchy job and later also I had to call their people for poor clamping of lines which were shaking even with a small wind and noisy operation of the machine in the bedroom. But even though the main problems were not solved inspite of calling their Customer Care no. so many times, who claim to be registering complaints but except for calling 2, 3 times on telephone they never came. My advice is NEVER BUY A HITACHI AC for their lousy and virtually non-existing service. Even their Company website is not displaying any information for grievance escalation except for a web form, which only god knows where the submitted complaints reach, but I have not seen any action. Imagine if a compressor is off during warranty and no one turns up or even acknowledges failure and assure replacement and your family suffer in hot summer, where you will be forced to buy from Local AC technician. Thank god I installed my Hitachi in the second bedroom, and I had an alternative to shift my children to master bed room where our VOLTAS machine is installed and let them sleep on floor with matresses, for fifteen days only to hear that some circuit board has failed and it took 3 weeks more for the spare to come. We just felt cheated in Buying a HITACHI AC and realised excellent service and spares are the most essential feature even if some features are not there. I suggest we should rely on INDIAN BRANDS FOR INDIAN CONDITIONS, better we buy VOLTAS, BLUESTAR, ONIDA, O-GENERAL, FEDDERS ETC. AND NOT THE FOREIGN BRANDS, WHO CLAIM A LOT IN ADs AND GIVE A DAMN FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES ONCE MACHINES ARE SOLD. THE DEALER WHO SOLD A MACHINE HAS NO ROLE OR EVEN A SAY IN SERVCE AND NEVER BELIEVE THEIR WORDS REGARDING SERVICE, BECAUSE OF WHICH I PURCHASED HITACHI as both BAJAJ ELECTRONICS & PCH spoke in favour of HITACHI, which has reduced prices but quality of their products is third class, now a days unlike in the past where National, Toshiba & Hitachi machines were imported and used to cost a bomb
