I currently own a Palio 1.2 ELps. When I bought this car FIAT was not offering any discount. Now on account of the sluggish sales there are a lot of discounts offered. I came across an ad (Chennai) from the dealer here who was offering free registration, free insurance, lifetime tax. This alone would come to at least Rs 35K, when financed by ICICI.
Check this out with your dealer. I have no regrets going in for Palio. The market perception about the fuel consumption is not true and they are just rumours. In a city like chennai with slow moving traffic, I get an average of 10.8 kmpls. It all depends on your driving habits, Palio allows you to drive on the 4th gear even at speeds of 25kmph. You will not regret your decision in going for th car. But choose your dealer carefully.
