Rafting and camping adventures are gaining huge popularity in India and the social media(esp. FB), is being flooded with feeds about weekend tour packages by the Travel companies. Nonetheless, its the peak season for the rafting & camping trip and so the city dwellers are packing their bags and heading to the nearest rafting places/hill stations they can, to escape from the uncomfortably humid and hot weather. If you have already planned for your adventurous trip, perfect. If you have been enticed by some travel consultants or your enthusiastic friends, well, get the ball rolling. Remember the quote, Nobody comes back from the journey, the way they have started it. Now, for people who have already experienced their rafting & camping expeditions, theyd sure know what they need to pack in their bags. But for the novice traveler here is the checklist for your rafting & camping trip;
A valid ID proof. If you are going in a group, one of you will have to submit a valid ID proof in original to the camp in charge
Torch/flashlight
Personal medications(if any)
Basic first aid kit
Bathing suit or shorts(please carry a sturdy boxer/shorts for men and boys, to avoid any embarrassment while battling with the rapids)
Extra Tees & sandos/vests
Sunblock lotion/cream
Sunglasses & swimming goggles(optional)
Light towels and toiletries
River sandals/sneakers/floaters
Ziplock waterproof bags for phone/camera/other devices
Extra undergarments
Plastic bags for wet stuff like shorts, towel, undergarments, etc)
