Man, whats your hurry?
I live in Bhubaneswar where the traffic is okay compared to Bangalore and Jamshedpur, two of the place where I have driven around.
Guys are not in that much of a hurry - thankfully. But, the signs of traffic indiscipline are being seen. Some examples: -
01) Guys at the electronic timer traffic lights can barely wait for the timer to reach 00. They start revving their engines and would like to do wheelie take-offs, old and young alike.
02). Travelling on the opposite side(wrong side of the road) is a given. One way traffic is supposed to be that but not in Bhubaneswar.
03) Cycles and autos rule the road - hit one and you are in for trouble. Cyclists just dont care - turn at the last minute, weave around the road. Auto guys are in a perinnial race giving the new bike guys a run for their money.
04) Worst part - night driving - All vehicles in Bbsr. must have headlights on high all times at night; Yep - its a rule.
05) Parking on the main and smaller roads - free for all - damned be the honker behind you.
Good things - roads are wide, traffic is peak time (if you know how you can beat rush hour); Girls on bikes are a big turn on; Guys on bikes weaving like a master tailor are a big big turn off. Govt. vehicles - mostly Ambassadors hog the road.
HAPPY DRIVING FOR NOW
