A couple of friends had just dropped in, and we decided to go for a few drinks, plus have some food. In and around bandra (e), we barely knew enough places to quench our thirst.
Eating joints are many, but good bars..our knowledge wasnt up to the mark. And so it was, whilst we were passing near Chetna college, we saw this place called Gharonda. From outside, it looked decent enough, so we ventured inside. It was the interiors that hooked us instantly. The restaurant is divided into 2 halves by a curtain of water. One for smokers, the other , is divinely bereft of the smokers.
The seating is comfortable. You are not cramped for space. There is adequate lighting. And the service is good too. What is main here is that the waiters do not crowd you or pester you. The liquor is not too expensive, neither is the food.
Having quit on Non-veg food, for aobut a year now, I would be able to comment only on Veg items, so please bear with me. There are a lot of usual starters available. But for thoser adventurous kinds, who love mushrooms, you could try the lasani Dhingra.
I never fail to order this, every time that I have been there. The taste never alters, and the item is just delicious. It is made up of the best of mushrooms, stuffed with a unique blend of garlic with masala. Then there is the baby corn manchurian.
This is just cooked to perfection, and the taste lingers on for a long time. Apart from these, the crispy vegetables are delectable. Beyond these, the rest of the items are about the same as what oyu would get in any other restaurant. But taste wise this is a good place. Do visit this place, if you want to spend some time tucked away, at your ease.
