A classic, this book, set in the years before and during the American civil war..this is a great novel. About a thousand pages in this book, but not once during the entire reading, do you feel bored. The story of scarlett o’hara and the men who come into her life of her own choosing forms the base of this epic. The few characters who standout in this epic are Scarlet, Rhett Butler, Mammy (Scarlets nursemaid) , Mrs Ashley wilkes etc. While it is Scarlett who is the main character, it is Rhett Butler who steals your heart away..Each character has been meticulously crafted...great stuff.. The movie won Oscars, but it is the book and its reading that is better
