I had been using DTH Services like Videocon D2H, Tata Sky previously but recently shifted to Hathway Cable as my Local Cable Operator started digital signals so I got the STB Installed and boom as soon as I opened the TV after the connection was installed then at that moment itself my TV Speakers were damaged courtesy to the high distorted volume adjusted by Hathway people from their headend.
Audio Quality is so horrible that on some channels volume is so high that sound comes distorted and will destroy your speakers and on some channels it is so low that even if you increase volume to full then also nothing is audible. So in all you have to not only spoil your thumb by adjusting volume up and down time and again while surfing but as a complimentary gift your speakers will also be damaged.
Now coming to the Video Quality, again its horrible and blurred on many channels, even analogue cable has clearer picture quality. Pixelation is also high on many channels. If you call customer care, firstly its highly difficult to make the customer care executive understand the issue and then even if a complaint is raised, no one ever calls or sends an e-mail you to follow up the case.
Ultimately you will just have complaint number which will be of no use as no one is interested in resolving the issue. Plz stay away from installing Hathway Set Top Box in your home if you want your speakers safe and don’t want your TV experience to be ruined.
