The only pressure cooker in the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Ive been using the 3 litre futura for 3 years now and Ive never had any problems with it. Its beautiful, stain-proof, scratch-proof and non-stick without being sticky/ hard to clean. While cooking daal if the gas is on too high some of the daal water might come out but that is the fault of the chef, its not a design fault. Meat (mutton/ chicken curry/ biryani) cook in 8-10 mins. Rice in 6 mins and daal in 8-10 mins. If youre a good cook/experienced with pressure cooking youll know exactly when to take it off the stove (there is no acutal whistle as in other cookers but it has a good pressure release mechanism which wheezes continuously when its time to take it off the heat).
If youre worried just keep the accompanying recipie book (great recipies btw) in the kitchen and follow directions. The best part? The lid seals from inside the lip of the container so no fears about it blowing off. Anyway theres a safety pressure fuse which melts if anything goes wrong thus releasing all the pressure. The best part? In three years of DAILY use I never had to replace the rubber ring or the fuse! (Touch wood!!)
If theres only one thing you can affort in your kitchen then I recomend the Hawkins Futura.
