HERO: Poster Show
Some people r calling HERO(1983) a "classic". That makes Jackie Shroff(58) a "legend"! Wonder where does that leave MUGHAL-E-AZAM(1960) and Dilip Kumar(92)?
Even the original was so-so. Jackie was a tall, wooden, expressionless cardboard. Meenakshi Seshadri(52) had a hard time moving her lips, forget acting. But songs were what the heart craved for. One can stil’ve a go at them. The movie had the college crowd swooning in an era when Amitabh Bachchan was ruling the roost. This added to the movie’s aura. The trade as well as the audience took to the lead pair making them instant stars.
Subhash Ghai(70) was sailing on the luck boat then. There is a golden phase for everyone. Otherwise what is the reason that he directed golden boy Sallu in the disaster Yuvraaj(2008).
When Salman Khan’s dad Salim Khan himself is an excellent script writer, where was the need for this museum(sorry musical) remake in 2015? A fresh, new script’d’ve made more impact rather than a 32-year-old movie remake.
Did Subhash Ghai, Aditya Pancholi(50) and Sunil Shetty(54) make it good enough for Sallu to make this kachra and even actively promote it? He could’ve acted in it and raked in an instant 100+ cr.
Even if this HERO does not work, Suraj Pancholi(25) and Athiya Shetty(22) should take solace. Look at the fates of LOVE STORY(27.02.1981) and ROCKY(08.05.1981) and look where and how active Kumar Gaurav(55) and Sanjay Dutt(56) are?
It is all fate and destiny ultimately.
Today’s HERO’s poster is blockbuster. 100 cr. Hero heroine make for a handsome pair. Another 100 cr. Salman bhai’s song is blockbuster. But for us the poster is enough. Never mind, the movie is so so. But who cares. Movies, v watch every week. Senseless movies with mindless content. But welcome back, Bhai’s HERO. Watch it for the dynamic poster. Blockbuster.
