Price rationality

Guyz do u think that u can increase ur sales by playin with the prices? well I beg to differ, when hero honda launched the karizma they priced I at rs 79000 ex-delhi and thus deliberately positioned the bike in the upper strata of the market, at this stage the product becomes a status symbol no matter the manufacturer wants it or not products in this market are ment to be expensive so that they may be exclusive and that is what the prospective customer wants, so redusing prices here is foolish and accounts for absurd marketin skills I dont understand that if a customer goes to 70000 [69990 approx itz new price] why on earth he cant streach to 79000 I dont think the sales would have sky rocketed by this reduction, HH has also hammered itz own foot by this reduction as now they have no way of justifyin the exorbitant price they were askin initially , this price reduction also questions the quality of the product which can be sold cheap, i mean who cares about increased localization content , i think instead of being callous to the initial customers by redusing the prices hh should have made a brand out of their bike, for example ferraris, porches ae obscenely expensive cars....do they justify their price? I dont think so, u may argue about the coveted driving pleassure but that can be had by a honda accord v6 mannual at fraction of the price, itz the brand folkz and that is what is expensive , hh could have played that card but they did not, i think ill never trust in the brand with my investment, i mean who wants to see the resale value of their purchase head south within few months of buying , certainly I wont.
