I bought the NEW HONDA UNICORN in the first week of April’07. It has been great since then. This is my first bike and after a month I can proudly say I made the best choice.
I never wanted to buy pulsar coz it was common everywhere and also came to know that the bikes are not consistent in its quality. And also its gear and engine problems are heard everywhere. The next choice was CBZX. But I always wanted to buy UNICORN coz of its engine and gear quality. But later I came to know that they are upgradin UNICORN so I waited for a while and I can proudly say it was worth it.
My rating clearly shows how happy I am. I agree it may not be the best in its look but end of the day its the quality of riding for me than just looks. Also I was not interested in trendy features and the digital speedo. For me analog speedo looks much better.
The first thing which an Indian looks in any vehicle is its mileage. I tested that twice. I got 49 the first time and 51 the second time. And it has not gone through its first service yet. Hope it will get better after that. But am happy with the mileage now. With a 150CC bike we can’t expect a miracle.
I did not find any problems with the showroom guys or the quality or service or with the delivery. I have seen people writing about the bad attitude of the honda showroom guys but I did not face this problem. And I hope I don’t face this problem while servicing too. I bought this bike in Bangalore.
I have taken Black color bike with Grey stripes. And have taken all the required accessories with that. The total bill came down to around 66k.
Make the best choice. Ride the bike to know the bike. As they say "Don’t judge a book based on its cover", similarly "Don’t judge a bike just based on its looks".
