Must See in HK

If you are in hong kong you can literally shop till you drop. The beauty of this place is that you can buy things for 2 $ and for 2000. What I am going to attempt here is give a list of must see shopping places in HK with their pros and cons.

Central: If you want to be surrounded with “Brands” this is the place to be, in central the business district of HK you will see all the brands that are available in the world, Channel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada and much more. But at the same time the most well known street tourists in central are the Li Yuen Street East and Li Yuen Street West. These run parallel to each other and you will find all types of nick nacks here. Don’t forget to bargain

Causeway Bay: A hit place with the locals anyone who wants to shop heads to Causeway bay. A cool mixture of giant deluxe stores like Sogo and Mitsukoshi and the Jardine bazaar, this place is ideal a stroll. Don’t forget to visit the Times Square which has a “super” supermarket called City super :) in its basement. If possible visit Times square at Christmas time to see the lovely decorations.

Caution: anyone afraid of crowds please stay away

Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei: These two places are on the Kowloon side of the island and easily accessible by the MTR. Both are famous for their street markets.

Ladies bazaar (Tung Choi Street): Nearer from the Mong Kok MTR station, this is a long lane (stretches 6 to 8 blocks) of shops that’s so crowded that you will move at a snail’s pace. You will get everything here from “I love HK” T shirts to Rolex watches to kinky under garments, you name it and you get it. The rule that governs this market is never pay more than half of what was initially asked and be very careful of your belongings.

Temple street and jade Bazaar: These are two riots of markets offering anything that is Chinese. If you are interested in antiques and art work do visit these places, you may get some real good bargains.

Stanley: This place is a must see as it is a wonderful blend of the beach, good eating places/pubs and a great bazaar. One can have a lovely day at the beach (though there are better beaches in HK) then shop and cool it all down with cold beer and a meal. Stanley is accessible only by a bus or taxi.

Other places that you might wanna visit:

Western Market for traditional Chinese arts and crafts, as well as fabric, clothing and interesting souvenirs.

Pacific Place at Admiralty

Computer centers at Wanchai, Mong Kok and Sham Sui Po (any electronic lover should not miss these at any cost)

Hope this is helpful to someone
