Well I bought an Accent viva crdi in jan 2k6, let me tell you the main reason to choose this car.
well we all know that once you buy it you need to holdon to it whatsoever, for a considerable number of time, what I mean here is, the car need to have a good value for money, resale, good or atleast decent service centre till the warranty wearsout, lesser dealer visits, good mileage.
and things like looks, liking etc also have their importance but the ones that I listed come first in the priority list.
this car had it all, adding to my astonishment it had greater engine life, heart throbbing pick-up that beat skoda in 0-100km test and easily beat ikon(1.3 PETROL) and fiesta too.
coming to my car, the car was bought in jan (2006), till date (sep 2006) it has clocked 9542KMs.
and I have had two services done.
THE CAR IS SIMPLY A RACING MACHINE WITH THE BEST OVER ALL PERFOEMANCE.
the car comes with hyundai’s PATENTED CRDI ENGINE.
first the driveing experince, it was awesome driving this car and it felt like I was seated behind a hood of a racing car when I drove it in the nodia highway. test drive this car and I promose you it will make you feel better driving this car than all the cars in its class and some even above.
second I just loved the looks of this car the vibrant red color made me go bananas over it.
third the mileage is mindblowing in the highways 18+ kmpl with ac and 19+ without ac and decent in the city if it is short distances that is 12+kmpl with ac and 13+ without ac.
foruth the pick and mileage did not show any variation eveni f the car was full, it never hitched or chocked even on the hills stations.
fifth the A.C. was on of the most powerful ones I experienced even while comparing it to allits rivals.
sixth the car has enough space for six footers. decent luggage space.
well comin to my dislikes about the car is the lower quality body build I mean the doors have a harder sound when closed with the optimimum speed, , cheap looking interiors and the dealer doesnt even give proper carpet or mats.
the tyre provided by the company is one thing I completely hated they do have the roadgrip the vehicle demands and it is irky rather bad while driving during rainy season.
the seats are not what I actually expected, well they need a fair amount of improvisation from the company.
all these can be overlooked.
although the dealer dowsnt provide you with a music system it is still the best buy.
the bottom line is if you want to have a cake and eat it too then this is the car for you it has everything you would everwant in your car.
EDITING MY REVIEW (NOV 2006) well I was way too xcited to look for the negetive points in the car so I simply jus wrote all the positive ones I could find and I myself ignored the negetive points earlier...
well let me start with seats
1..the driver’s seat lacks height-adjustment which is well xpected from a car that is in this price range and of this class.. well it is otherwise provided in the normal accent crdi. the seats dont xactly hold you in the position during sharp turnings either (that made me feel like I was seated in the ZEN which has the same pro with the seats) when compared with its competators the honda city(also zx), the lancer and others have.....
2..the front dashboard is jus very unjust as you cannot put a plate on it if you go to drive in restaurent or a eatery or anything else on it even M800 small car such as that the space to put cell phone. also the space inside the dashboard is so little I cannot put any thing else in it xcept the owners manual and say 4-5 CDs.
3..the glassholder that has been provided jus in front of the gear-rod is a bit too close to the rod and may end up spilling ur drink if not careful..
4.. as I made my point earlier the tyres are not the quality I could possibly xpect from the company...
5.. the should come with a proper set of footmats please this not provided at all
6.. there are no body color side door panels, dooropening handles, rear view mirrors ..
7.. the interiors could have been more flush even the topend indigo has better looking interiors than this one.
8.. the car is a little scary if turned in the slightly sharp turnings around 60kmph this is probably because of the mere 14inch tyres of the vehicle..
9..well so much to the manufacture’s claim and the whatever others boast about the vehicle’s MILEAGE it never gave me more than 14KML without Ac and 13KML with Ac. in the city believe me I have done 10000kms so far and i do full tank to tank mileage check up... and in the highways it gives you clearly18KML with Ac if u keep the speeds around 80KMPH to 90KMPH....
10.. after these 10 months the doors are not the same they sound a little hard and when complained about it the servive men say its wuite normal with the accents... NOW HOW ABOUT THAT?????the body is not as sturdy as it seems...........
11.. man my advice to you guys please do not purchase the hyundai central loking system its the worst I could find in the market..
A.. first the remote doesnot have a hold button and can easily get pressed if it is in your pocket....
B...second if an abstacle is in the remote’s way the remote does not work even if it is 20FEET of distance from the car...
c..the doors wont open sometimes even after opening the car I mean one of the four doors doesnt open sometimes and thats real paining part...
12..well I guess it is need less to say the headlight bulbs, rear light bulbs, the stop in the rearat the dicky all these bulbs are pathetic and I changed them all to phillip ones with much better wattage..
TO summerise all the money we pay has been put into the engine alone that is EXCELLENT WITH LITERALLY NO PROBLEMS CONSIDERING Chassis, suspension, exterior parts, tyres, car is seriously charged for the engine and only basic safety is provided though...
well THE NEW car launched by hyundai HAS BEEN GIVEN A LOT OF HYPE. its the same engine as accent crdi (viva crdi has the same too) ACTUALLY ITS NAMED AS THE NEW ACCENT IN AUSTRALIA AND MALAYASIA ... but here in India they juschanged the name to verna..
its the same engine that has got 1493cc of ENGINE capacity.. and 110BHP its jus that they claim they have a turbo fitted and increased the BHP from 90BHP in accent to 110BHP..
But frankly speaking I believe they justuned the engine to 110BHP and put it in a new chassis thats all otherwise its the same.. I can get the same pickup as verna if I get my engine tuned up from a profesional I guess.......
