After travelling back to India I have been thinking of upgrading our fathers car M-800 that I currently drive. After reading about the Getz launch, I thought I will wait a while and check this one out as it seems to fit my requirements well.
I went to the Hyundai dealer in the heart of the Pune city. The folks there were very efficient and provided great knowledgeable service. Among all the car dealers I would say they were the best trained folks.
Now about the car. The car is nicely shaped and very aerodynamic and provides most of the important features as well as the good to haves. The styling is real nice and the dashboard is good though not great. The engine has got a good feel to it. The gears are arranged very similar to that of the accent. The Santro one though are comparatively clumsy. The ground clearance is good. The Santro is more easier to get into than the Getz. The back seat of the Getz is similar to Santro and equally uncomfortable. The only big negative that I felt of this car is that you can not see the hood of the car from the driving seat. I just dont like to drive and park such a car in the city traffic. The accent which is bigger does not have the same problem.
But overall from the features wise it is a very good car.
But considering the price range I feel it does not fit my requriements. If I could get an accent for 1.2L more then that would be a much better choice. What I need is a small city car to replace my old maruti and also a car for long travel. I was hoping Getz would kind of fit both the requirements. After the visit I think I am most likely to go for 2 separate cars. Indica V2 Diesel and Accent Viva.
