This review is all from what I have seen, read, etc.the launch of this car has been anticipated very much.but it does not really live up to its expectations(my expectations were high!).
the getz definitely getz you amazing looks.it’s european styling makes it look chic and modern.you can easily mistake it for a peageot or a volkswagen.the front gets multi reflector headlamps and fog lamps.the grille also looks good.in the back the neat tail lamp cluster leaves you with a good impression.i just love the tail lamps.the wheel caps look sporty.steel wheels are standard and alloys are optional.better check this out atleast for its looks.
the engine is a 1.3 litre petrol which pumps out 82 bhp.but the performance was far from good.the korean model was actually zippy but its zippyness has been sacrificed for fuel efficiency and because the car is heavy(80 kilos more than accent!).the car feels sluggish in the 4th and 5th gears.so it does not post scorching times but is okay.the top speed is 160 kmph.
the interior looks cosy.the seats are excellent and give the feel of a much bigger car.there is lots and lots of place and it is more spacious than some bigger sedans!.the instrument panel has a brushed aluminium finish(not exactly.).its a new finish.it does look sporty.another sporty element is the aluminium finished gear knob.there are 2 cupholders in the front, one with a removable ash tray.
i have given a seperate section for safety in my review.the getz has been designed and engineered with the european market in mind.so safety is given a lot of importance.the body is made using high quality tensile steel(thus it is heavy and its another reason why performance is down).there is abs in the gls version.but airbags were not included for the indian model.but it is still a very safe car to drive.
fuel efficiency is disappointing.only 16 kmpl in the highway.maybe not so efficient in running costs.but a crdi version of the getz could soon come to india and I am awaiting that eagerly.not just for fuel efficiency.
overall, the getz gives you very good looks and an excellent interior.sort of an.the base model gl is priced at 4.5 lakh rupees while the top end version gls is priced at 4.75 lakhs.it is a sedan(a spacious one) without a boot.i don’t know whether or not to recommend this car.it is a good car with some negative aspects.
