Hyudnai Santro comes in 4 diff models
1) Santro - LE. This is the most basic model of the santro. The on road cost in bombay will be about Rs.409512.
2) Santro - LP. It is same as LE except that it has power stering and the cost will be about Rs 15000 more.
3) Santro - LS. The Best model of santro. It has Power steering, front power windows, Central Locking system, Tinted Glasses and body coloured bumper. It also has rear window wiper. The on road price in bombay is around Rs 412000.
4) Santro GS. It has all the features of Ls plus it has fog lamps, seat upholstery. The on road cost in bombay will be about Rs 435311 .
All santro cars will come with in built AC and heater and , Front mirrors.
The cheapest way to buy a santro is get it registered for a proper Thane/New Bombay address (It will be around Rs 8000 cheaper) under an individual name.
Please do not pay to the dealer the price they show on the price list. Ask for a discount. I got My santro LS (with metallic paint) registered under a new bombay address along with a discount of Rs 13, 000 off the on road price. PLEASE rememeber that you wont get a discount till you ask for one. The car market isnt exactky going great guns so the dealer will def. give you a discount. Also rememebr that metallc/mica painted car will be about rs 4000/5000 more expensive then normal painted car.
i have been using ny car for around 2 weeks now and its working very smoothly and is ver comfortable. Santro gives an average of about 10 Km/Litre of petrol with the A.C. on in Bombay City. The average increases to 12 Km/Litre without AC. On the highway it will go up to atleast 14 Km/Litre without AC.
The only slight hindrance might come is the timing of releasing the clutch and pressing the Gas Pedal (Accelator). As to get aquainted to santro rtakes a little more time and space. Althoughh I would have prefered to go in a for a bigger car segment (but couldnt because its too expensive) I feel amongst the small cars, Santro is the best, comfortable and best for the person driving.
