Brought Satnro Erlx -XL on 8.7.06. dirven 300 Kms so far. I migrated from M 800. I am telling you this is best car for those migrating from M800 or Uno. Hyundai gives excellent value for money. Before buying I had done little research. It favroued ALTO-LXi in terms of my requirement with its reduced TOC and highest mileage. But the car is underpowerd and no offers are also there. It has become like an Autorickshaw and to be seen everywhere. I do not want to spend close to 3 lakshs and still have that M800 feeling. Since I had the opportunity to drive santro, wagon R and alto I could avoid with test drive. Palio and indica were the first cars to be dropped due to pricing, mileage and looks. Alto, Santro and Wag R remained in contention. Alto left out due to reasons mentioned above. I had an ill feeling against Maruti becuase the way they treat and underestimate customers. The gears of Wag R was horrible. and I did not like its box type look. Maruti is also not much interested in pushing this vehicle thro discounts etc.. No offers, except free insurance, was available either for Wag R. The only two pluses for wag R in comparison fo Santro was its Power steering and Brake.. Wag R is having Electronic Power Steering whereas Satnro is having Hydrolic PS. But with Hydralic PS u can change parts. In EPS one has change the entire module. The braking of Wag R is at least 30% better than Santro.
Regarding Santo it is a complete vehicle in that class. It has a awesome look with body coloured bumper and if you fit fog lamp and put wheel caps it looks much better. Interior is excellent with the use of good plastic and lot of space is available for leg room and luggage. handling is quite easy with power steering and conrtrols are accessaible with soft touch. Excellent colours are available.. Now a new color called Potomac blue has hit the road.. I took Real Earth. It is too early to pass a judgement on mileage and reliability as it is only one week since I took delivery. But at present I think I am getting around 14 KMPL which according to service person increase to 18 KMPL after 2nd service. The other good thing about the car is its AC and Heater... Fantastic blower speed push and circulate the air very power fully. One can observe that Hyundai has taken minute care is every aspect of the vehicle.. My dealer KTC Hyundai has given be a fair deal... I got the bumper painted and anti rust coating for the vehicle... installed Pioneer music CD system with JBL’s speakers.

I have since completed more than 3000 KM in my XL -Erlx. my first service is over... No prob so far and it is smooth. right now I am getting 18.5 KMPl on highways without AC using high octane petrol. after second service it is likely to increase.
