Laugh riot story set in the period of Ice Age about a whacky Sloth Sid (John Leguizamo) who is left alone when every animal migrates southwards towards warm climate. He befriends the much calm yet firebrand mammoth Manfred (Ray Romano). During their friendship they find a baby whose mother dies while protecting it from a group of Sabre Toothed tigers. Obviously Sid and Manfred dont know about this and the cunning sabre toothed tiger Diego (Dennis Leary) takes advantage of this and befriends the duo so that he can capture the baby and bring them to the herd. The story is all about the adventures of the trio and how ultimately they become the closest of friends. Amazing laugh riot movie with superb one liners and a performance of a life time by John Leguizzamo as Sid The Weasel. Largely reminds you of Such hindi movies like Dil Chahta Hai and Shaukeen. Also largely inspired from 3 Men and a baby as well as Baby’s day Out. Watch out for an amazing parallel track of a squirrel who is trying to save his apricot for the winter. Definately worth a watch for kids and adults as well.

1) Movie credits and the book include a female sloth named Sylvia, who is not seen in the released movie. In the book, Sid manages to avoid accompanying her on the migration south, because she is interested in a commitment.
2) When the baby sees the spaceship frozen in the ice, she gives it the Spock-hand signal often seen in the TV series Star Trek by Leonard Nimoy. This serves as an in-joke.
3) The film was originally intended as a drama but Fox Animations would only accept it as a children’s comedy.
