We have been ICICI bank customers since 1998. It was very good in the beginning, and I recommended it to everyone till people started thinking I am being paid by ICICI bank!! We migrated to US and became NRI customers, and things were ok till 2001.
That’s when things started going downhill. Every issue we take up with ICICI gets a great run- around and leaves us where we started. As an example, my resident account with them got de activated( God knows why) and then started our travails to get ot activated. Till date, even after 4 years, we could not get the password reset. I have no idea what is in that account now, and what happened to it. Hopefully when I visit India next month, I can close the accounts.
Seeing all their emails and advts, we wrote to them about a so-called ’’ Home search’’ + Home loan for NRIs in 2003. After 2 years, we are still waiting for a reply. Looks like they just dont care.
What I write now takes cake!!! They have something called ’’Private Banking’’ for those with large assets. We want to become Private banking customers (which means an investment of atleast 50 Lakhs) - we write to them, call them toll free number, and WAIT!! No response from last one year.
Now we have decided to close all our accounts with them, and spread the word that ’’ICICI SUCKS’’!!
