My Car is in the Garage for 1 Week and No Progress

My car met with a minor incident (not accident) 2 weeks ago, where I had parked my car in a busy market area and there were approximately 10 - 15 bikes parked behind my car. Unfortunately it was a narrow road and a bullock cart passing by carrying some goods went out of control and it accidentally pushed the bikes and a series of 10 bikes fell on my car and the immediate bike behind the car was a bullet, and the bullet fell on the backside bumper and the handle of the bike literally pierced through the bumper and caused is a crack on it. And then this bullock cart rubbed the entire right side of the car causing minor scratches and dents on both the doors and fender on the right side of the car.


I didn’t get time to leave the car for repairs or make a claim immediately, so called up the ICICI Lombard customer care after 2 weeks and explained the issue to them and raised a claim request on 06-APRIL-2014(Claim# MOT03716802, and my insurance number is 3001/W-21664791). And the nightmare begins!


It’s been 5 days that my car is lying in the Volkswagen Bangalore garage and no work has been started yet. Firstly, these bloody surveyors didn’t turn up for 3 days after the claim has been made. And on the fourth day this person Sanjeev Kumar goes to the garage for surveying my car and says he can’t approve to fix both bumper and side doors repaid, but he can approve for either side doors OR the bumper. I asked him why? and he says damages have happened in different incidents, so I can’t claim for both at the same time, and I explained to him the whole scenario about the incident and he just doesn’t seem to believe me or DOESN’T WANT TO BELIEVE ME and wants me to fix side door once and leave the car again after a month fix the bumper. (These idiots think I am jobless to leave the car every month to fix each part?). I don’t understand this logic and no matter how much I argued and tried to speak to this person, he just denied to repair both side doors and bumpers. So I asked him to pass on his manager’s number so that I can speak to him.


And I called up his manager Kishore(Ph: 9916354864), and explained to him the whole scenario and this person says he will look into the issue and will get back to me.


MY BAD, that was the last time I spoke to someone from ICICI Lombard and since then I had been trying to follow up with these people and nobody is receiving the phone.


I called up ICICI customer care and raised these issues and raised couple of complaints (Interaction ID 9042014763, 10042014343) but no response.


~WHY THE HELL AREN’T THEY RECEIVING MY PHONE CALL?


~AND WHY THE HELL SHOULD I CLAIM TWICE FOR DAMAGE CAUSED IN ONE INCIDENT?


I have been using cars for last 5 years and have dealt with insurance companies like BAJAJ ALLIANZ and BHARTI AXA. They never troubled me so much!


ICICI Lombard is pathetic and horrible. I will not recommend this to anyone.
