Had bought a IFB Senorita+ washing machine a few years back. Its a bad quality product and requires repair almost every year. Again, Machine stopped working 2 days back. Since, I have just moved to Mumbai and dont know a lot of people here, so I thought that best option will be to call Customer care.
I called up and a mechanic was sent to my place.
However, let me tell you about the cheat tricks this guy played. He didnt even spend a minute on our machine and told us that the Timer was short-circuited and inlet valve for the water pipe was also defective. He gave us an estimate of Rs. 5, 500. We paid him the visiting charges(which by the way are more than a qualified doctor will charge) and let him go.
I am glad that we decided to take a second opinion. We asked a local mechanic to come check, he opened the machine checked and found a loose wire. 5 Minutes and the machine was working fine.
I dont know if the technicians that IFB hire are that scrupulous or there is a problem somewhere else. However, the incident left a real bad taste and I am off from buying anything from IFB from now onwards. Once this machine that I have right now is broken, I will buy anything but not IFB for sure.
This guy charged me Rs. 350 for doing absolutely nothing and tried to rob me off another Rs. 5, 500. Disgusting!
I am sure no one at IFB is going to read this or take any action but I will like other people to take note of such unscrupulous activities by companies and their representatives and avoid them.
