I do not like the idea of transferring Loyalty/Reward Points from credit cards spendings to Payback / Imint as it seems to be a big waste. Rather, I have and would advise to opt for a credit card which gives you cash back.
Payback is the leading company in this field and their catalog is pathetic. All you can find is cheap items which are only sold on the streets, and the branded/desirable items being priced too high. Take for example Sony NWZ-B152F 2GB walkman is available in the market for Rs. 2000/2200, but on the payback website, it is for 11450 points. Assuming that you earn one point by spending Rs 100 on your ICICI bank credit card, for 11450 points you need to spend Rs 11, 45, 000. Frankly, I dont believe that there would a person who would have such spending powers and a taste for such a product. Most probably he would have already bought an I-Phone from the Rs 11, 45, 000 he spent.
Also, payback tries to market some new products and limited offers like I-Pod 2GB shuffle for 1999 points as limited period / launch offer and it is just a sham. Getting special offers from https://payback.in would be even more difficult than buying a tatkal ticket from the railways website. After all the effort to log-in to the website, you will soon realize that the website SUCKS! I dont know how many people got the 100 I-pods they were offering today, but seeing that the website was not functioning, may be only payback employees might have been unable to use it on their INTRANET :-) . Another feeling of system rigged.
My advice to everyone is to opt for an credit card which gives cash back, opt for a plane ticket which gives you Air Miles and DO NOT GO with PAYBACK!
