A Big Disappointment!!

I was as excited as any other movie buff who wanted to watch the second part of Independence Day, but to me it was a big disappointment. I could not bring home any good moment from the film and it was a blank feeling when I left the theater.

The expectations from this second part were very high considering the time gap between the first one and the sequel. Such a long gap provides the creative time to film makers to write good stuff and also with the advancements in CG affects, any Sci-Fi movie can be made marvelously. The film starts by creating some inquisitiveness but slowly the interest fades away. Most of the new actors fail to create the impact. Thanks to the characters from the Part 1 who manage to create some kind of interest for the viewer.

As the story unfolds, the plot weakens and the CG affects honestly look like a PC game(thought of writing video game due to the primitiveness of the affects). Not a single scene in the entire film is worth the money. It is very rare that I have felt such in recent times, even films like Pacific Rim which have a very different story could create better CG affects.

One thing which film makers have to keep in mind is that the average movie goer these days is intelligent enough to judge a film and thanks to the information available online, they are aware of the process of film making and therefore lame films such as Independence day part 2 should be avoided.

There would be die hard fans of the part one who would like the film due to their association with it for the last 20 years(i am also one such fan), but as reality struck, I must confess that it is a bad movie made. Hope that it they are making the next part, it would be well written and crafted.
