The worst exponent of online shopping in India

Purchase #1: Air Tickets


Promise by IndiaPlaza.in: Free book from a vast collection advertised to be available for picking and choosing


Lie #1: The book list provided in the advertisement accompanying the offer was for "display" only. Redemption of the code provided led me to a list of book titles that were certainly NOT attractive


Lie #2: The redemption code was accepted against a book whose listed price was given as 1400 INR. 3 weeks and no book was shipped to my address-when I called/emailed I was told that no such request was received even though the redemption code was now showing up as invalid. so what happened to the free book?-no answer!


Lie #3: I called and emailed them several times until finally I got a new redemption code but the list of books now available was even fewer and this time books that cost a mere 100 rs! how attractive is that while booking an air ticket >6K INR. I ordered one finally but am YET TO RECEIVE EVEN THAT.


Since, I was traveling thereafter I decided not to waste my time in pursuing this matter.


Purchase #2: Electric Portable Iron


170920080654: Order received is not as described


1) The plastic pouch containing the iron does not have a zip and is broken


2) The handle doesn’t fit closely onto the side.


Promise by IndiaPlaza.in: Pick up from home by courier in 3 days


Lie #1: courier person was unable to verify credentials and why he had to pick up the parcel. Amazing service!


Lie #2: Requested for another pick up, response received that ths would be done in 5 days. So far nothing


Both my experiences have left me disillusioned with online shopping in general but what leaves me aghast and absolutely furious is that there is no one in these companies pays heed to common complaints and ever addresses them.


My recommendation: shop with IndiaPlaza.in if you have the time, energy to fight and ensure you get what you paid for. else choose some other offline option pls
