*LATEST UPDATE:*
This week(7-Mar-2007) Indiaplaza folks called me and let me know that they have corrected the problems. Specifically, they have updated the digital certificate. I tried an online purchase and it went ahead smooth. I understand that theyve fixed it correctly. Apparently these were hiccups due to the move from fabmall domain to Indiaplaza domain. Well, the sites back up now. And thanks to Mouthshut for being able to get their attention.
*ORIGINAL REVIEW:*
This is not a review on Tatasky but on Indiaplaza.in online retailer.
I had a very scary time online trying to buy recharge coupons and it was clear that Indiaplaza is not a secure website. Now website security for online retailers is such a basic and important need that it neednt be explained or elaborated on. Nevertheless, if you want to read the details, have a look at: https://chandradip.blogspot.com/2007/02/tatasky-should-stop-retailing-through.html Meanwhile, youll be better off buying Tatasky stuff at brick and mortar stores that you can rely on. Now, if you are not at a location where you can access a physical store, like if you are abroad, then forget Tatasky. Or you can ask a friend in India to do the brick and mortar purchasing for you. Clearly, this reduces the gift market considerably for Tatasky. **But does Tatasky care about increasing marketshare? It will remain to be seen whether they pick better online retail partners.*
