Ive had some bad experiences before with online shopping, but THIS takes the cake. I usually buy books from Flipkart. I chose Indiaplaza only because it seemed like they knew what gifts meant. However, their marketing departments lies were well exposed by the events that transpired.
I ordered a book which was to reach the recipient on 15th Feb 2011. On 16th when the order showed in process, I called the customer care who put me on hold. The SMS service called back after about 1.5 hours, and told me that the book hadnt even been shipped yet. They promised to get back the next day.
The next day, the response was - we are cancelling the order because the book is not in stock.
I fail to understand this:
As a customer, WHY am I being shown a book available for shopping if you dont even HAVE the book?
What is the point of ASKING for a delivery date when you dont even know if you have the book in the first place and you cannot fulfil your promises?
As a customer, do I not even get informed about the fact that youre cancelling my order and whether or not Id like a substitute?
Whats more, the only way you can "write a complaint" is through a "request" system. There is absolutely no feedback mechanism on the site. I wonder if this is because they know how crap their service really is. I am scared for my money. I hope my refund comes through fine.
Absolutely ridiculous service and Id NEVER recommend anyone to buy from here. Not even if they were my sworn enemies...
