My 2 cents (or paisa) on the India Shining Crap

Is India really shining? Frankly speaking, I have no bloody idea. I am not the part of the society that forms the majority in this country. But I know about myself. I am not having the greatest job I can have or I would like to have. But I do have a job. A job that is dependent upon the little internal progress India has made in the field of IT. We have cheap(though not exactly broadbandish) internet connections that are practically the reason behind me standing on my feet, though whole of the American working class hates me as they believe I am actually taking their jobs away by providing cheap labor(?). Actually I am sitting on a comfy chair as I speak(or type), but I earn enough to enjoy the few luxuries that this new metropolitan culture provides me. This metropolitan culture is as a result of development of India as a huge market for consumers at least in the big cities.

Telecommunications has progressed massively. Today I saw Reliance Prepaid Phones on sale at a departmental store. A departmental store for god sake. Which means, I can actually buy a telephone connection off the shelf. Compared to what I know was the condition few years back, its heavenly. Share Market is at an all time high though most likely it?s an indication of another scam in the making. Rupee is doing extremely against Dollar, which is actually bad for my personal benefits but is good indication of a good economy.

Never seen as many multiplexes and shopping malls as I see now. Highways actually feels like highways, Petrol Pumps have basic amenities. Life has never been so good. If I give all the credit for all the good things that I see to the current government, there are more things that they have to take credit for. They also take the credit for the homicides in Gujarat. They also take the credit for the murder of Satyendra Kumar Dubey and thousands of other non disclosed political murders. They also take the credit of the misdeeds of the people caught in Tehelka Tapes, Judeo Case and zillions of other scams.

There are so many things I hated what they did in the last four and a half year. But as far as I can think of, I don?t want to see the suckers in congress to come to power. I like the few people in BJP that do good work(though they face opposition from their own party men) like Jagmohan, Arun Shourie and the likes. I can?t think of many in the congress party. I certainly don?t want to see Sonia Gandhi(or any of her 2 kids) as the next Prime Minister of India though I can take the pain of having a 79 year old PM in Atal Bihari Vajpayee(who incidentally is walking on artificial legs so as to speak). TINA factor favors BJP and that?s what I think is the best for the country in the coming elections. As for me, I am not going to vote, yet AGAIN.

As there is no one in my constituency who I believe is worthy of my Vote. Am I being a bad citizen? You bet I am, I don?t give a damn with the trash present in front of me for selection. Let?s hope for a good future. I am having a pretty decent present. But with what I hear in the news, it?s certainly not a good feeling for me?
