Go, Watch it!!!

Watching the second version of any Hollywood blockbuster involves a kind of risk, called redundancy. Thankfully, Ironman 2 has overriden this. Starting from where it left in the first part, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) expresses his reluctance to handover the ironman suit to the US Defence. Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) who aims to bring down the legacy of Stark, gets his hands dirty with Ivan Danko (Mickey Rourke), a Russian who attacks Tony during the course of a Grandprix race in Monaco. The arc technology which Tony develops in the first part to sustain his life turns toxic with increased palladium levels.

At this juncture, he is faced with multiple challenges in the form of Gwyneth Paltrow, his caring secretary who keeps reminding about his egoist tendencies growing by the day. Then there is Scarlett Johannson, from the legal team of Stark industries who along with a short role played by Samuel L Jackson help Tony get out of the mess he’s put himself into. Don Cheadle plays Tony Stark’s buddy, James Rhodes (a colonel in the US Defence). The high points of the movie are the marvelous action sequences which keep the audiences in awe, the hifi gadgetry which Tony uses throughout and the subtle but quick conversations between Tony and his pals which evoke a few laughs. The downside is the script which had some loose ends. Overall, this a wonderful summer action movie.
