Ajith has tried altering hair style and costume and looses closely in the attempt of looking like a college student. However he loses pathetically in the attempt of looking like a determined youth or a promising young leader.
So, what are all the pluses?
Well, there is a story line as the foundation and that is a plus.
And as far as the screenplay is concerned, certain parts are good..and Some scenes make your guesses fail. And at those points the film looks fine. But the problem is, these scenes are very less in number.Infact, right now I have to think hard to locate the good scenes in the movie.
How ever, the best thing about this movie is that, Thalai talks very less in the movie. So, you dont want to search you hair , after all the goose bumps you normally experience in all recent Thalai movies.
And what are the minuses?
The biggest minus is the randomness in the screenplay.
What is the intention of this movie?
Is to give message to the society? Is it to show some heroism? Is this a romantic movie?
Actually it is a failed attempt of doing all those things in a single movie.
The movie begins with a note of saying , how practical life and principles/ambitions are different. But this philosophical view comes only for the first 10 mins.but after this ..there is absolutely no philosophy.. I dont know what is intention to give such a beginning.
Ofcourse, there are messages coming in the middle of the movie..but later, there are absolutely no messages and the story moves towards vengeance, murder etc .Even the given messages were not strongly conveyed. You wont even realise that messages are conveyed and this is the most boring part of the movie...in which I was thinking..why there is no fast forwarding system in the theatre.
Then there is very less heroism in the movie...So it will be a big disappointment for hardcore Ajith fans. But this should a plus..becoz Ajith talks very less in the movie. There is very little heroism shown in the movie but in most of the scenes, Ajith looks like a frustrated debut fast bowler whose has given atleast 3 boundaries in an over.Ofcourse he kills the villain in the end...but at this point all the people in the theatre are standing and waiting for THE END to come on the screen.
And again Trisha comes mainly in songs and a few scenes. But they are just to to remind you that she is the heroine and to maintain the basic formula that the hero should always have a lover.
And no idea , why Visu comes in the movie.
There is one decent song...and all the other songs are Cigarette breaks.
And as the movie ends you are left with absolutely no impact of the movie. However most of us were coming out of the hall as if we have seen a hilarious , comedy film.
Overall, there is nothing great in this movie..if at all you have a principle of seeing atleast one movie a week..you can go for it other wise..there will be no loss encountered in skipping this.
