In indian cinema...we rarely make reality based movies.
So this is a rare film , based on a real story (a very normal story in film standards though) and amazing presentation.
Since based on real incidents, the story line is not be criticised..
However , it looks like the director hasnt adultrated the story much..
Kudos to him!
but the most important part to talk about is the presentation.
First the screenplay.
Screen play is good, but there is one part which I didnt like much...
The initial part of story flows into two flashbacks...
One from heroines point of view and other from heros point of view.
I think it would have been better and clean, if it had gone linearly,
Then the cast and their performance.
A very perfect cast for all the roles and a clean, accurate acting exhibited by all.
But it is Bharath, who steals the show completely.
From a mechanic to lover boy to the insane, he has done it all with perfection.
And it is very refreshing to see a native faced heroine.
Sandhya has done very well as aishwarya. She looks like aishwarya, talks and reacts like aishwarya.
A very impressive debut performance from her.
All the others like Heros friend , heroines father, his brother, heroines friend etc also have done a good work,
A good casting from the director, mostly fresh faces and they have also given amazing performance.
A special mention to Work shop boy and hero, s friend.
In an interview, the director said he got the boy in a street of madurai ...unbelievable!
The Cinematography is good. Done only with the natural light, the work is technically good and emotionally perfect.
Joshua sridhar has given loveble music. All the songs are good and some songs are exceptionally good..like thottu thottuand unekkenave .
He has given a nice feel to the songs.
Most of the songs come along with the story flow and also they are good.So there are no speed breakers in the movie(except for the Mansion song).
But the only problem is that he has not concentrated much in the re-recording .Most of the BGMs are very normal or they are familiar You here taals BGM and Titanic hear alike BGM in the movie, but you do hear some good ones as well...
However, the good thing is that , the BGM has not disturbed the movie.
Songs are well written..I have to hear more to write something on the https://lyrics.
But check out the lyrics of Thandatti karuppayi...an impressive one!
Well..kaadhal is a exceptionally good movie...closer to perfection but there are some gaps.
Some scenes could have been avoided or done better.
Examples would be the two small comedy scenes that happen in the mansion
The first one, where stephen insults all the roomies.
though the sequence is justified...bad acting acting exhibited by most.
Then the scene were assistant director roomie interviews(!?) two fellows...
I dont know why this scene was placed.Could have been avoided.
Also the puraakoodu song...Could have been avoided.
however the song had something to say!
then scene were bharath waits outside the ladies toilet...
The dialogues were dragging in that scene, you hear the same set of phrases again and again.
Other that these, most of the other scenes memorable ..
The most memorable ones are...
The portion after heroine expresses her love to the heroine.
This 5 minute portion was beautifully done.
Then the Unekkena song .. a very clean make.
One thing that impressed me most was the nativity and dirtyness in the movie.
The cast, their looks , their accent everthing is very native...
The movie doesnt take you through some colorfully art directed houses, green hills, handsome boys and beautiful girls
It shows you normal places and normal faces.
The art direction is totally hidden..I even had a doubt...Was there a art director for the movie? and I think that is his success!
It starts from hot dirty madurai ...then moves to humid, dirty chennai..and then to a more dirty mansion..
Then finally ends in dirty Dindigul roads.
I saw in the screen , what I have seen in the madurai, chennai , dindgul or anyother city, in reality.
they are dirty , but very native and beautiful.
