Kahin to hoga certainly comes in the spaghetti with shaving cream (with yorkshire gravy and tapioca) department of service. That’s what u make of any drama when it’s been soaked in water, smothered in mud and been lamed and cut and stung and torn!
Watching kth is more lyk watching a flamboyant and slapstick comic opera. Each and every character turns out to be a unique creation of bio-diversity.
It’s about the tumult in lives of Sujal and Kashish __ and others related to them. its kind of hard 2 believe but this is how the daily business of Sujal-Kashish goes:
Sujal:I love u Kashesh!
Kashish: I love u 2 Sujal!
Sujal:I love u more than Shah Jehan loved Mumtaz and than Ranjha ever loved
Nur Jehan!
Kashish: Ranjha never loved Nur Jehan but I understand. I feel that way about u too
Sujal: Without u I am a ship without sailors, a land without mud……
Kashish: Without u I am seagull without food, tree without vascular bundles, flower
without nectar……..
Sujal:Oh Kashesh!
Kashish: Oh Sujhal!
(Then they go all smoochy smoochy and they even refuse to breath after they go you-know-what …. Mean while the background music: some peppy old song from some oldy mouldy film……)
Plus it’s also the Garewal’s waterloo. The Kashish-Sujal, Kashish-Rishii, Rishi-considerable amounts of other ppl fights provide the actual material for the serial. All these characters do once they are in the drama is that they establish themselves then they argue ferociously and rarely agree on anything.
Excerpts from the Kashish-Rishii fights:
Rishi: Main ne aap se kaha tha ke BigB ko kuch nahi hona chaye ab u wait and watch.
Kashish: Mere room se niklo Rishi.
Rishi: Aray mein to aap ko is ghar se nikaal doon ga! (though he has never been able to do that. He has my deepest sympathies)
Kasish: apna threat kisi aur ko dena. Now out!
Rishii: aeh! u just stfart packing…..
(while getting out of the room Rishi says with an incredibly hooligan-ish sumg “u r too good”)
....... Aaaaand this is how the death scenes go:
Kashish: (waaaaaaahhh!!!!) no one can take my Sujal away. Sujal! Suuujjjaaaaaaaaaalll!! SUJAAAALLLLLLL!!!
Sujals dad: (sniff ’sniff’) tumhe mera ram naam satya watch karna tha and I m watching urs! why beta ??
Rishii: (struggling from the ppl who r trying to stop him from running into the chitta.....)
Sigh’ sigh’..... Great sentiments ! these ppl put laila majnu, and hamlet and his papa (RIP) and The Tukka Bros to shame.
Now that v r done with the 2 basic aspects we can move to the acting skills: Kashish (Amna Sharif) is pretty but an acting like that is so not promising her a bucket full of money at the premise alone. She has to do more than just letting loose a strand from her hair.(very fine hair I must say) and trailing yards of muslin and scent.
What she needs is more energy. More likely to say _ ENERGY!
Sujal (Rajeev Kandelwal) needs considerable amounts of ENERGY too. He may have numerous supreme fawners for his good looks but he is certainly not pleasing the critics. He could gargle daily to stop sounding like a cockney owl. Veena is much like a gentle, and understanding Noah.The ideal mamma who keeps a monsoon in her eyes while steering the Garewal arc through the stormy seas of life. Still there is nothing funny about the accidents. Why don’t these women watch where they keep their big feet?
Then u have Vasu so drastically reminiscent of the Drakkar Noir Color Shoppe. If her husband dies someday receiving a heart attack in bed it will be no surprise. He probably would have rolled over and had a good look at his wife.
And what’s with the bad Madame Pricillca Irwin accent?
Riva a totally joyless ogre with 2 very different sons : Soyam in immediate need of a decent haircut and Akshad ….. by far he is the one person with good acting skills . Couldn’t he try for some other serial? He can get any with those awesome looks of his.
Kth has colorful rich dialogues and Ekta ji’s quirky and weird trademarks all over it – which create a dire need of tea to calm frayed nerves. But as compared to other Kapoor masterpieces like kyunki and kahani its at least something during which you can survive (while doing justice with mangoes).
