I would like to begin this review by congratulating the Hariyana Hurricane on being given the Cricketer of the Century award. It is a highly deserved recognition of his tremendous achievement. Let’s face it - a world cup win is unbeatable - that is what REALLY matters. And Kapil is the one who brought the world cup to India. He has shown tremendous cricketing talent, and an ability to turn a match around at a crucial point. He was a great captain, a strong leader and his never-say-die spirit was what elevated the Indian team to this historic victory. Our other great players - Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar - very good players no doubt - but they have not been able to be strong captains of the team; nor have they WON matches for India.
I am and will always remain the biggest fan of Kapil Dev. I think those idiots who believed that hypocrite Manoj Prabhakar’s baseless allegations of match fixing should get their heads examined. you cannot hang a man without a trial. Not a shred of evidence was found against Kapil. I think his integrity is beyong reproach.
