Just thought of sharing my experience of shopping for a leather sofa set for my new home in Bangalore. After visiting various showrooms zeroed in on Karlsson Leather in Indiranagar.They import some premium leathers for upholstery from Sweden. Initially I had some doubts about getting a sofa custom made. Also I wanted to be sure of the quality of foams and frame work before the leather covered it ! This is what I worry about when it comes to upholstered furniture because we don’t know what lies beneath! This is the main reason I did not want to buy a ready made sofa from the scores of shops in Bangalore. And I have never seen such high quality leather anywhere else.
But at Karlsson I got to see how the sofa looked and felt before the leather was stitched on to it. Which was a good thing as I wanted some small changes in the seating positions and handle angles. It was an after thought on my part and not their fault. But they obliged my whims :) and promptly made the modifications and stitched on the leather. And I am very pleased with the result.
