The resort itself is too much in the interiors and took us about 4 hrs to reach there from Dadar. But it was worth it, the location itself has a very rustic feel with bamboo cottages and log huts, the resort transforms you to a different place altogether.
The facilities provided by the resort are pretty basic like hammocks, indoor games like Table tennis, carrom etc. Even the swimming pool is very small - just about 30 feet by 10 feet. But somehow the overall ambience created by the resort happened to overshadow these flaws. Fortunately for us, the resort was not too crowded and we did get to enjoy our’space’ in the pool and at the resort. Relaxing in the hammocks under the shades of dense trees was mesmersing. I wished time would stop then and there. Also being very fond of cycling, I did get a ride it for a few minute before leaving . they usually charge Rs. 100 / hour for it.
Don’t forget to try out Coconut water on the beach - fresh and pure for only Rs 10/ - a steal
Now the bad part: The Kelwa beach itself proved to be a spoilsport. I presumed it to be the cleanest in this belt but I was wronged and how. The sea water was jet black and full of grease / fuel / industrial waste. I gues this was due to some recent oil-spill nearby but it ruined my trip. It took me 40 mins to wash the oil / grease off my feet. So if swimming in the beach is on your mind - think again.
