The dialogues, screen time for actors, camera work, visualization et al constitute the body parts of a movie wherein each one has to be given the right amount of time, treatment and nourishment.What happens in King Kong is that one part is given so excess and grandiose a treatment that everything else seems to fall apart and slided at the side.Its a long, long, long movie which makes one feel that something is really wrong.

Carl Denham is director who prefers motion pictures to theater.He doesnot show any promise in the draft versions of his filmcraft and is denied the adequate finance for his film.This is when he thinks of a map which would take him to a ’lonely’ island and wishes to shoot his film.He picks up a rather reluctant crew comprising of Ann a stage actress and Jack Driscoll, the screen writer.When he reaches the lonely island.The leading lady is given as a prey to the Kong by the island inhabitants and the crew gets to the work of rescuing her.What happens next is the saga of forest fancy with Kong turning from Ann’s kidnapper to her protector from every creature one could imagine.Eventually Ann is indeed rescued along with that the Kong is captured and displayed for show in Newyork as the 8th wonder.

Will Kong get his ’love’? and what happens to the human lover Jack driscoll is the rest of the story.

The CGI, camera work and animation is the big plus of the film, such a big plus that the director seems to ignore every other aspect of film making and concentrating only on this.The audience crave for a little emotion , a little drama is not given adequate touch.The Kong comes out a little more late in the movie and he is no less than a wonder.Watch out the scenes where Kong protects Ann from the Dinosaurs(T-Rexes), it is shot beautifully and is a top notch action sequence.There is other scene where Kong is attacked by the monstrous bats which is worth a watch with eyes wide open.The skull island is captured brilliantly and may frighten some people.

The acting department lets the movie down.

Naomi Watts as Ann is just okay.The fake emotions portrayed by her seems just like that.She’s a beauty indeed but with the beast, she does not portray the feelings of fear and passion to perfection.

Adrien Brody as the Screenwriter Jack Driscoll is good and apt but the script does not give due importance to his character and once again the falling in love with Ann and the tryst with the beast is devoid of any emotional impact.

Jack Black as Carl Denham is a relief in the movie and he portrays his character very well and his’ is the second best performance.

The rest of the actors are not given enough screen presence, so the less talked, the better.

Coming to the Best performance, its the King Kong indeed , he roars, he soars, he is soulful and he is the one who registers so many emotions.

TO CONCLUDE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Watch this movie for visualization , the camera work and that giant mammoth called Kong, this movie is a 5 star for that.If you are looking for a good paced story comprising of love, emotion and melodrama, its not your cup of tea or coffee.
