I have not misspelled the name. Its just that I was a fan once.
But it always takes one incident to wipe out all those great memories.
Same here. When I used to travel ( tho not often ), I would always book
the Kingfisher Flights. Over all , it was comfortable, And Mr Mallyas
statement about us travellers being guests, was appealing.
And
so, I have travelled on. But one trip changed all that. This was a
trip, when I decided to travel King Fisher First, ( my hard earned money and all that) and get a glimpse of
the special treatment mentioned on the Website.
The fateful day - 28th Jan 2008. And I got a WORLD CRAP experience every bit of the way.
I checked in. At the check in counter, I was shunted across the counters. This in spite of my ticket showing KF first.
Thereafter,
The lady at the counter motions to me ..politely of course - asking me
to proceed to the lounge, not bothering to ask if I knew where it was.
Eventually found my way to the lounge on my own. There , I was sitting
quietly not knowing what to do. As I watched other regular travellers
trickling in, I saw that each "Guest" had a pouch to keep their tickets
etc. I just had a lounge card. No directions, no help at all - having
to help myself.
There is supposedly a valet who helps u to your
seats with your bag etc. Strangely, that day I realised that a valet is
assigned to you, only when I saw one while my fellow passenger was
boarding the plane with the valet in tow carrying her suitcase.
The Agony took a back seat a little while
the food was being served. That was the only minuscule "Good"
experience on board. Thereafter, to take my Mind off the yucksperience,
I watched a movie. When we were nearing Mumbai, we were given the
feedback form. That was enlightening as well. As I was filling up the
form, there was a query about some amenity kit given to guests. Not
having received any, I naturally asked the hostess, who said she would
revert...Ha !
Then, it was announced that our flight would land
after 50 min due to us being 15th in queue. At this juncture I asked
for Hot Chocolate. I came out of the plane seething! No hot chocolate, no nothing. Aaargh!
It was a complete disastrous experience.
I came home first
thing, and shot off a letter to the chairman@kingfisherairlines.com. I
was told that amenity kits were stopped, and welcome gifts are given. I
recvd nothing. Hallelujah!
For All the pain I suffered, all I
got was a mail trying to soothe me, while doing nothing at all to ease
away the pain. True, I did receive a tie as a gift, and a Diary -
perhaps to doodle on.
My money, was spent flying third class on a supposedly world class airline. In fact I have had better times travelling on KF class.
I do sincerely hope no one suffers like this ahead.
In all probability, KF inspite of the chairmans words does not really care for the agony and pain of just one passenger.
Aloha! other airlines - here I come.
