Kingfisher is not a disgrace to India (like AI) but is definitely nowhere near Jet Airways standards. While the ground crew is beyond words, offering free Kingfisher uniformed staff who wait outside the airport to carry your luggage to the check in counter; the in flight experience lacks the charm and responsibility of Jet. Although Mallya has some good ideas going for him, like leather seats and personal IFE entertainment, he needs to expand them. The PTVS (personal TV) only show 4 channels all in Hindi..news, zoom, and a childrens show along with the flights progress on the air show.
The seats although leather are cramped, small, have minimal legroom and recline. The pre departure beverage is a nice touch, but the rest of the catering is disgusting. I had stringy noodles that were undercooked (and made god knows when) and tasted like eating string since they were so bland and thin. We had "potatoes under a bed of spinach"..which appeared to be soggy lumps of potato and ONE WET LEAF OF SPINACH..where they conceived the word bed from I do not know.
The cabin crew are well groomed and not ugly but not good looking, but are still unfamiliar with the art of service, they tend to be too warm and become over intrusive and stammer, as if they were in a show and unfamiliar with their lines. Another good idea Mallya has are the amenity kits, but yet they only have a sweet, a pen, and a timtable as well as a crappy moist towelette. Who would want a timetable and a crappy most towelette when they should be offering real cloth ones like Jet..even in economy? Also..the livery and aircraft interioir is too red..red is nice but when overdone looks tacky. Overall, Jet has the best product in the Indian skies, and debatably in Asia, I dont think I will ever fly Kingfisher again.
