Bought the Camera a month back, and have used it extensively both in CIty and Nature photography on weekend trips.
Considerations -
Have a good roll camera with good zoom, a diigtal camera with 3X zoom, and finally a SLR with a Vivitar Lens, so what I was lokking for was
Point and shoot camera, with no additional replacable lenses
Good optical Zoom to capture distant images
Good memory and battery life
Not to spend a fortune on high zoom cameras, range was restricted to 14000 only
What I was getting in the range was Fuji s8000 camera, Kodak Z8612( BOth with bill and warranty) and Nikon P80( without bill and warranty)
I just loved the P80, but I dropped the idea of buying a camera from Gray market( the honest tax paying citizen that I am:)
*Performance
OK, the technical specifications would be available on the website, so I m not getting into those details. Instead I would try to focus on what I felt using it -
EXCELLENT ZOOM - You could capture the distant things with amazing clarity. The lens does not disappoint, and captures details beautifully. I never once had to stretch into the digital zoom range, optical zoom did the trick( I am never a fan of digital zoom in any case:)
IMAGE stabiliser- captures images even if the camera or the object moves while clicking
Number of modes, and options to set the parameters like speed, exposure etc if you want to
Pretty clear pictures in not so good light as well - did not have to use the flash very often
Good LCD display
Pretty decent battery life
The major issue with the camera is that it is big and bulky, and so kind of ties you down if you fo trekking and all( The camera with the case is like a baggage in itself)
Well, for the money I spent, this is surely a deal, IT saves me from the trouble of carying a SLR everywhere, and allows me good quality pictures.
