A good book, you can read it if you dont mind its slow pace, but a definite classic.

It is amazing how the author has managed to enter the mind of a woman...and so acutely! the descriptions are not gross, and infact quite impassionate if you keep your mind open.

A book that was allowed to be sold only in France from where it was smuggled to UK and surrounding countries, this book may not shock people now, but certainly does amaze readers.

The book tracks a part of the life of a woman who breaks away from being ’’Lady Chatterly’’.

Lawrence smoothly and deceptively lures you in, untill you suddenly realise that you are deeply involved in the life of this woman. A vivacious person when young, she could almost be labelled the type of person who would not marry, but have countless love and intellectual affairs.

MArried to a wealthy man with a title, she is suddenly bereft of her carefree days when he is injured in war. Before she realises she becomes a different woman, conservtive, quiet....

But the appearance of a new gatekeeper of the estates makes her remember herself, and throw social stigmas out of the window. The book tracks the changes in the life and perspective of this woman throught this crucial phase of her life, her quest in seeking herself.

Lawrence can be mistaken for a woman, so acute are his observations and remarks. Every word draws you deeper into the book, and are not to be missed, for then the essence will be lost

Known for its reviews and the shock waves it caused, the book has been mistaken by many, and thus they have been dissapointed. I would not suggest this for cheap thrills, but if you like literary or interesting and stimulating books, then this is one of the books that every diversified book lover should read.

The book has underlying paralells to everyones life, if only one can look at them. It shows the importance of self discovery and going after what one wants, and not what society dictates...for what the society may like may not be what you want. It makes us realise how we act like ostriches and dont even realise it

Many a people have not read the whole book because they found it too descriptive or too slow, but if you like off-track books, and dont mind the pace, well then...just go ahead and read it.
