Cleveland(Paul Giamatti) is an attendant in a swanky apartment where there are some weird people staying. There is a fitness maniac, Reggie(Freddy Rodriguez). There is a rebel Chinese young lady Young(Cindy Cheung) who is staying with her strict Hitler-like mother. There are are group of rockers(Joseph Reitman, Jared Harris, Grant Monohon and John Boyd). With all these characters, Cleveland comes across a young girl by the name of Story(Bryce Howard) who happens to be a nymph who is staying inside the swimming pool of the apartment. Cleveland actually finds out that she is being forced to stay on land by a group of creatures who don’t want her to come back inside the water. Cleveland, along with the tenants, decide to send her back to her home and fight the creatures. An absolute dud by Shyamalan. The movie does not make any sense and has got no logic. There have been some equally weird movies made like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 13th Floor, Being John Malkovich, Don Juan De Marco and even the more recent, Pirates of The Caribbean. But the difference is that those movies atleast had a proper script. Extremely disappointing for Shyamalan fans. Give this a miss.

5) The film, when opened in India, was a dud from Day 1. When I went for the first show, there were just 10 people in the entire theatre. Movie was made on a budget of $75 Million. It must not have recovered half that amount, making it one of the biggest disasters of the year.
