Worth for the buy

Hi all,

Well buying a laptop these days is very difficult .There are a lot of brands available in market today of both global and indian ones.I have been using laptops for the past 5 years. My maiden laptop was Acer Aspire(imported one) and then IBM Thinkpad RX 60 and now Lenovo 3000 Nseries .

I never buy a laptop for entertainment. My primary use is to work with applications and database at the most I play some music and occassionally DVDs.As we can find lots of products available for entertainment and multimedia I always feel that laptops should not be punished for sole purpose of entertainment .Well thats my view.

So I always wanted to buy a good laptop which can solve my purpose of browsing internet, working on applications and database.never worried about the looks or sounds.

I narrowed down to IBM Thinkpad, Dell and Lenovo. The only reason I had to drop Thinkpad was the cost.Dell because of its bulkiness and worried about delivery and service. Finally decided to go for Lenovo 3000N series as it is simple, robust and high performance delivery machine.I have been using this Machine for past 10 months on an average use of atleast 6 hrs per day.hardly this machine forces me to go for restart. It never hung till now.

It was Windows  Vista preloaded one.But since Vista doesnt support much of Oracle applciations files so had to switch to Fedora, Win Xp.Believe me till now I have never faced even an inch of problem with this Machine.

Keypad is very good and I love it.Camera is of only 1.3 MGP.So can’t expect much of it.good enough to use in chats but not for clicking photos.

Speakers are ok for slow music but not for party type.If that was my interest then then I would have gone for Toshiba which has the best laptop speakers(satellite).

Biometric finger print reader works well .

Battery life is ok and can run for atleast 1.30 hrs if charged fully.

If you can afford above 60K then blindly go for IBM Thinkpad else gor for Lenovo. No doubt they are the masters in Servers, Laptops & desktops and slowly catching up with rest of the  market

This product is not recommended for Multimedia centric users but good for working professionals who is always on the move.

Thanks,
