Item not shipped despite customer service promises

I ordered an Asus laptop # LSB-460476 last Saturday (8-Oct). I called customer service on Monday. A person called Sumanshu answered and he said since Saturday was not a working day, their commitment is that they will ship the item 24-48 hours from the first working day. I asked him to confirm that they have the item in stock, and he put me on hold and confirmed that the item is indeed in stock and ready to ship.


I called again on Tuesday and Moushumi from Customer Service answered this time. She checked my order details and assured me that the laptop would be 100% shipped on the same day. She also assured that the free items will ship along with it. (3G card and Diwali gift)


It is Wednesday today. Sumanshu and Moushumi were either deliberately lying to cover for the fact that the item is not in stock, or this is what customer service agents are asked to do - assure same-day shipment regardless of what the truth is.


I’ve ordered twice before from letsbuy. My first experience was similar to this, and when I posted a review on mouthshut, pawan called me up and resolved the matter immediately. The second time I ordered for my sister. Placed the order on Sunday. The item shipped on Monday and I received it on Tuesday. Great service that time. Which is why I decided to try out letsbuy again. And looks like they haven’t let go of their misleading ways.


Pawan, if you’re reading this, it’s possible that I’ll still get my laptop within 4-7 working days. But for heaven’s sake, can you please ask your customer service guys to stop lying? If they had told me that it would ship on Wednesday, and it actually shipped on Wednesday, this review would have been 5 stars instead of 1. Stop lying to the customer. If it’s not deliberate lying, get your facts straight. Open up a communications line with your logistics team. Commit a shipping date to the customer only if your logistics people confirm it. Don’t respond to all calls with shipping promises that you cannot meet.


I sincerely hope that you’ll take up this order (# LSB-460476) with your logistics people and get it delivered on time.
