I bought this phone 2 months back for 9.5k and since then I am addicted to it, yeah its sheer addiction.
Android -
To start with Android 2.2.2, this OS rocks. Lots of apps to download, especially the game angry birds, which plays well. My 3 year old daughter loves playing it. Android is very easy to use.
Few small things like while setting the alarm it displays the time from setting the alarm till ringing. like when you set alarm at 12.00 p.m. for 6.00 am it will display that alarm will ring after 6 hours. This comes very handy where you get an idea how much you will sleep, especially during examination time.
All apps log on to the net for anything and everything, so it is advisable to take a GPRS plan immediately after purchase of this phone. I have opted for vodafone 2gb plan for Rs. 99 and it is sufficient, which includes video downloads, surfing actual website only through the phone. Beware, if you do not have GPRS plan, you will end up paying hefty amounts.
User Interface -
UI is nothing more than simple. even my three year old daughter can unlock and start the game to play. Contacts are easy to access and store.
Screen
Screen resolution is in fact very good and deep colours bring life to movies. it supports divx but not yet tried as am not aware of the right configuration to convert, but other videos, like youtube videos it plays amazing smooth and clear. You will not miss you TV, I am sure
The screen is capacitative and it is very smooth and adequately sensitive. for the price you get, you cannot get better than this. playing games on this is fun. It also has motion censor, which works like charm. Like playing a speed boat game, you have to tilt in the direction for turning, which gives real good experience.
Performance
The speed of this phone is very good. I have downloaded around 54 apps and games, apart from bit slow in loading(maybe few seconds late) there is no lag in use. The menus are smooth and did not find any lag in movement. Don’t get swayed by Samsung’s 680Mhz processor as against LGs 600Mhz processor. In fact it is the same but little overclocked. Also the RAM is higher in LG, which comes very handy when you load lots of application. Android needs more Ram to perform better, which LG has.
Messaging
Message interface is good, where it collates messages of one person in one thread. Typing as usual can be bit painful and irritating, but with landscape keyword is good. Cannot say best but not even worse. It is just getting used to it.
Camera
It has 3.2 autofocus. Nothing great to say about but decent.
Battery
With decent usage the battery lasts for 1.5 to 2 days and very heavy usage like net, gps, songs, etc, the battery will drain in around 12-14 hours. In short, you will be able to survive from morning to evening in case of heavy usage. Overall battery is the plus point for this phone.
Connectivity
it has wifi, bluetooth, GPS. Google Maps loads faster and GPS is near to accurate. With this device, now there is less likelihood to get lost. MAPS are really awesome. For looking any place, I immediately look into the phone. Wifi connection is good
Now with GPRS plan, I am always online on Gtalk, yahoo messenger, gmail, office mail. I bet you will not require a pc, like I have not logged on facebook through PC since this phone. That why I made a statement sheer addiction.
Music
Quality is good and it has good depth, but not like sony phones, which I still cherish my w810. with the music clarity, I am using it as a MP3 player. Stock headphone provided is good, but you have an option to plug any headphone as it support 3.5 mm jack
I can go on and on as I am totally impressed with this phone. I think right now it will be available for 9k and for this price, I think you cannot get any better phone than this.
