I wanted to have a RIM phone ever since it was launched and finally got hold of one on 3rd jan ’04. I earlier used nokia 3315 so my review might be in comparision to that
THE GOOD POINTS:
1) The phone is sleak and light
2) Its voice loudness is awesome
3) Voice clarity and network catching is excellent(can use it from distance upto 2 feet)
4) Backlight is very bright(can be used as torch)
5) Polyphonic ringtones sound good and loud enough
6) Stronger than average vibrating alert
7) Two games(though not the best games but okay)
THE SOAR POINTS:
1) Battery life is low. Two days with less usage and around 1.5 day normally
2) Battery sqeakes while typing(very irritating)
3) No support for long message more than 160 characters
4) Whenever you change anything in menu then the phone goes back to standby mode so to change many things each time you will have to go into menu(most irritating)
5) Delivery report for message has to be activated every time when u send message
6) No voice function
7) Alarm and reminder don’t work if switched off or in R-WORLD(Java mode)
CONCLUSION:
I had option of inly lg 2030 and nokia 2280 so I went for former but I would suggest you not to go for it rather opt the new LG 2130(moonlight phone)
