LG RD7130 - a very old model for CDMA technology! Why write a review now? Let me profess two reasons - that the set is still on offer on Reliance website and can compete with more contemporary phones available today.
I own and have been using the model for over three years and feel motivated to write a review(when most will write a obituary for a mobile model three years old!). Remember, when it was bought, had costed about Rs.14, 500.00. However, the investment has been worth for the following reasons:
The phone is reasonably rugged and the clampshell design only helps
The text on the display is possibly one of the largest, even in comparison with contemporary models;
The polymorphic tones have a great and sweet resonance that you can get in highend phones
The pre-set tones in themselves have variety and punch;
It can function as a modem as well
An additional battery comes with the box packaging
The batteries are reasonbly good performers - I am still using the original battery packs;
It comes with a cradle charger, which hold the phones steady
It comes with Java software
Standard features can be found on the phone.
All gadgets do have some limitations and the present mobile - RD7130 is no exception. Some of the shortcomings are:
Limited SMS and phone listing capacity - only 50 a piece!
The cost of spares is steep and the authorised seller of these is Reliance
Limited features in terms of graphics, no MMS yet etc.
However, overall, a phone in continuous use with me, it has served well with not a visit to the service centre in three years! Remarkable.
