Little Italy is a pretentious restaurant on 100 ft Road Indiranagar in a converted bungalow. There are roughly three sitting areas: outdoors on what remains of a large lawn cemented over, a basement lounge and a first floor sitting area.
There is no parking, since this used to be a residential area until the likes of this restaurant ruined it. There is valet parking - I wonder where exactly he takes the car, for it takes forever to come back.
First the outdoors. Apparently this is the first choice for people who want to been seen here so if you dont have a reservation, dont expect to get a table outdoors. That is a blessing in disguise, for the mosquitoes will have you for dinner long before you even get the menu.
Now for the basement. This is a sunken ground floor with very uncomfortable sofas.
And lastly for the 1st floor. It is airconditioned, but the noise levels are terrific, and theres a lot of traffic to the kitchens, or whatevers hiding behind that door.
The music is Worldspace, played on tinny little speakers, and extremely annoying.
The winelist is adequate allowing those with pretensions at knowing which wine to choose with vegetarian food a chance to show off.
Now for the food. Vegetarian bolognaise? Yes, thats right. Instead of meat, they use soya. Need I say more?
The service is indifferent. If you dont look hep or are a newcomer, dont expect to be taken care of.
The waiter will offer mineral water. Take him up on that offer, else the next morning youre going to be ill. (If the water doesnt get you, the unwashed glasses will.)
A meal for two will easily set you back by 600/- to 800/- rupees. Probably 1100/- if you hang around for desert.
